Thanksgiving Is coming… does anyone still cook for other holidays like we used to?

I grew up in a family where food was basically our love language. Every special day had a meal attached to it. Sunday dinners, Easter lunch, Thanksgiving (obviously), Christmas dinner, 4th of July cookouts even smaller days like Memorial Day or Labor Day meant something was cooking in the kitchen.
It wasn’t about going all-out or making fancy dishes. It was more about slowing down, eating together, and giving each day a sense of meaning. Looking back, I realize how much that helped me grow. It taught me to appreciate routine, to enjoy food, and honestly to appreciate life in simple ways.
Now that I’m in my mid 20s and living on my own..., I’ve noticed most people around me barely acknowledge these days unless it’s Christmas. And I’m wondering… do folks still celebrate holidays and national days with food the way families used to? Or is that kind of tradition slowly fading?
