what do you do on the days you just don’t feel like cooking?

By JugglingNothing on

Some days I enjoy cooking. I’ll put on some music, chop vegetables, and try a new recipe, and it actually feels relaxing. But other days? I open the fridge, stare at the ingredients, and the last thing I want to do is cook.

I cook most of my meals at home to save money and eat a little healthier. But I’ve noticed there are evenings when the motivation just isn’t there. Work was long, my brain is worn out, and cooking feels like another task on a never-ending list.

As a guy living alone, I usually just throw together something simple like scrambled eggs, a grilled cheese, or maybe leftovers if I planned ahead. But sometimes I think about parents, especially moms or dads who have a whole family depending on that dinner. That pressure must be real.

Lately I’ve been trying to make it easier on myself: batch cooking on weekends, keeping frozen veggies around, and having a few “lazy meals” that take less than 10 minutes. It helps take the pressure off those nights when my energy is basically zero.

What’s your go-to move when you just don’t feel like cooking but still need to eat?
