Samsung’s tri-fold phone looks really cool
By JugglingNothing on
I’m not a tech expert by any means, but I’ve been a Samsung fan for years, so when I saw this, it definitely caught my attention.
I read a hands-on article about it, and from what I understand, it starts off like a regular smartphone, then unfolds into something closer to a small tablet. When fully opened, the screen is around 10 inches, which is kind of crazy to think about fitting in your pocket.
It has three panels instead of two, allowing it to fold in more than one place. When closed, it works like a normal phone. When opened, it’s more like a tablet for watching videos, multitasking, or reading. It’s clearly aimed at people who want one device to do everything.
I don’t fully understand the specs, processors, or hinge engineering but I do understand the appeal. I’ve always liked how Samsung pushes new designs, even when they seem a little extra at first. Foldables felt weird years ago too, and now they’re kind of normal.
Is this something I’d buy on day one? Probably not. It sounds expensive and very “early adopter.” But as someone who enjoys seeing where phones are headed, I think it’s cool that Samsung is still experimenting instead of playing it safe.
It's only available in a handful of countries, like China, South Korea, and Singapore, but Samsung plans to release it in the US this year.
