Grok’s potential vs. the ugly reality of its use

By Real Ray C on

I mostly use AI for text, writing, brainstorming, generating content ideas so my experience with Grok has been limited compared to ChatGPT. From what I’ve seen, it has incredible potential, especially for multimedia and video content.

But reading recent reports about Grok being used to generate non-consensual nude images really shook me. It’s alarming how fast this content spread on X, and it’s clear that safeguards weren’t strong enough before the rollout.

It makes me reflect on how we, as users, need to be responsible with these tools. AI like Grok can be a game-changer, but it’s also a reminder that powerful tech can be misused if ethics and oversight lag. I hope regulators and developers find a balance soon so the tool can reach its creative potential without being exploited in harmful ways.

Even though I mostly stick to text, seeing the scale of misuse in images and video is a wake-up call. It’s a moment for the tech community to discuss: how do we protect people while still pushing AI innovation forward? Note: Image made by Grok
