Every week it’s a new AI model… and I’m starting to wonder what comes after

Lately it feels like there’s an AI announcement every single week. One day it’s a new model out of the U.S., the next day it’s China rolling out something faster, cheaper, or more specialised. Everyone’s calling it a race, but I’m not even sure what the finish line is anymore.

We've got companies like OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic pushing general-purpose models that can write, code, tutor, and reason. Over in China, companies like Baidu and Alibaba are dropping models that seem hyper-practical optimized for scale, cost, and real-world deployment.

From the outside, it’s overwhelming. As someone who likes structure and predictability, this constant leapfrogging messes with my sense of stability. One month you’re learning how one system works, and the next month it’s “obsolete.” That’s exciting, sure but also exhausting.

What really gets me isn’t who has the better model. It’s the quiet question underneath all of this: what happens next when AI is everywhere and constantly changing? Jobs, education, creativity, even how people communicate, it all feels like it’s being rewritten in real time.

I don’t feel confused so much as uneasy. Progress is clearly happening, but the pace makes it hard to breathe. I’m curious how others are processing this especially people who need a bit more time to adapt. Are you excited, anxious, or just trying to keep your head down and keep up?
