what are your “comfort movies” — the ones you can rewatch forever and always find something new?

By Eli Mercer on

Watching movies is my thing my little escape from the noise and rush of everyday life. But there are two movies I could watch a hundred times and still feel something new every single time: Little Women (2019) and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013).

I think what draws me in is how both stories capture quiet strength in completely different ways.

In Little Women, it’s Jo March’s fire that mix of ambition, love, and longing to be more than what the world expects of her. Every scene feels like a warm hug and a challenge at the same time. I always see a bit of myself in her dreaming, doubting, and still daring anyway.

And then there’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. It’s so tender and reflective. That feeling of being lost in your own mind, imagining a bigger life while trying to find the courage to actually live it, it hits deep. The soundtrack, the stillness, the message… it’s cinematic therapy.

Both films remind me that quiet souls can still live loud lives in their own way.
