Netflix is quietly changing the way we watch...
By Charlotte on
I’ve seen some headlines floating around about Netflix quietly removing “gruesome” action content, and I wanted to add a little context without turning this into a panic post.
What’s mostly happening isn’t censorship, it’s tech and licensing shifts. Netflix recently phased out its interactive platform, which is why things like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch disappeared. Other action titles rotate out because of expiring contracts, not because Netflix suddenly decided violence is off-limits.
Streaming libraries change all the time, and while it can be frustrating to lose unique or intense movies, Netflix is still putting out plenty of hard-hitting action and R-rated content. This feels more like the growing pains of a platform evolving than a move to sanitize movies.
Honestly, I think it’s a good reminder that if you love something on a streamer, watch it while it’s there and keep pushing for better preservation of standout films and formats in the streaming era.
Curious what action movies or shows you wish Netflix would hang onto longer.
