A New Netflix African Drama That Turns Family Secrets Into Full-Blown Chaos

I recently started watching a new Netflix African drama that really leans into family tension, secrets, and the slow collapse of a carefully built public image. At the center is Jonasi Gomora, a wealthy businessman whose personal life begins to unravel as hidden relationships and long-buried secrets come to the surface. What starts as a controlled family structure slowly turns into a situation where every decision starts affecting someone else in unexpected ways. What I found interesting is that the show isn’t really focused on judging the practice of polygamy itself. Instead, it’s more about dishonesty, power, and what happens when trust breaks inside a family system. Once the cracks start showing, they don’t stay contained. From a viewer perspective, especially outside the region it’s set in, the emotional themes still feel very familiar. Family conflict, infidelity, and the pressure of maintaining appearances are not unique to one culture. That’s what makes it easy to follow even if the setting is different. The younger characters add another layer to it. They’re constantly caught between loyalty, confusion, and public embarrassment caused by decisions they didn’t make but still have to live with. It’s the kind of drama that keeps building consequences episode after episode until you realize the real story isn’t about wealth or status, but about how one person’s choices can reshape an entire family over time. It made me think about how many shows are really less about the “theme” they advertise and more about the emotional fallout underneath it all. Has anyone else watched it yet, and do you think Jonasi is fully responsible for everything that happens or just shaped by circumstances?
