Be careful who you hand your vulnerability to...
By Charlotte on
One of the healthiest things you can do during a difficult season is talk to someone you trust.
Sharing your thoughts, fears, and frustrations can bring clarity, reduce stress, and remind you that you don't have to carry everything alone.
But experience teaches an important lesson: not everyone who listens is equipped to handle what you share.
Some people listen to understand. Others listen to respond. And a few listen simply because they're curious.
That's why trust should be built over time rather than given automatically.
Pay attention to how people handle smaller things before you hand them bigger ones. Do they respect privacy? Do they show empathy? Do they support others when things get difficult?
The people who deserve your trust usually reveal themselves through consistency, not words.
Opening up is not a sign of weakness. In many cases, it's a sign of courage.
The key is finding people who treat your vulnerability with care rather than treating it as information.
Talk when you need to. Seek support when you're struggling. Just remember that healthy sharing requires both honesty and wisdom.
Not everyone needs access to your deepest struggles, but everyone needs someone they can trust.
