2026 resolution: Be consistent at the gym, looking for feedback on this plan

By JugglingNothing on

One of my main resolutions this year is to finally commit to the gym and build muscle consistently. I’m a beginner and want to focus on getting stronger, improving my physique, and sticking with a routine long term.

I recently joined a gym, and this is the full-body workout plan they gave me:

Workout plan:
Seated calf raises — 3 sets (max reps)
Leg press — 3 × 10
Leg curl — 3 × 8
Pullover — 3 × 10
Barbell bench press — 1 × 10, 2 × 8
Chest press — 4 × 10
Shoulder press — 3 × 8
Lat pulldown — 2 × 10, 1 × 8
Cable upright row — 3 × 10
Barbell curl — 2 × 10, 1 × 8
Cable reverse curl — 3 × 8
Dumbbell overhead triceps extension — 3 × 10
Cable pushdown — 3 × 10
Forearms — 3 sets (max reps)

My goal this year is simple: show up consistently, follow a structured plan, and make progress instead of quitting after a few weeks. I’d like to know if this looks reasonable for beginners or if it’s overly complicated and should be simplified. Any feedback or beginner advice is welcome. Thanks!
