Some kids aren’t inactive by choice

Youth sports can come with registration fees, uniforms, equipment, transportation, and travel. For many families, those costs make participation impossible. Some children labeled “lazy” may simply lack safe, affordable opportunities to move. Walking, dancing, playground games, bike rides, and community programs can offer other ways to stay active. Movement should be about enjoyment, friendship, and confidence—not punishment for a child’s body.
