Does anyone else spiral when they don’t know what’s going to happen?

I’ve realized that uncertainty is one of my biggest anxiety triggers. Not knowing when something will happen, how it will play out, or even if it will happen at all sends my brain into overdrive.
I can handle bad news better than I can handle no news. When things are unclear, my mind fills in the gaps with worst-case scenarios. I start replaying conversations, reading into silence, and imagining outcomes that probably won’t even happen. It’s exhausting.
What I really crave in those moments is reassurance. Not false promises, but just someone saying, “Hey, it’s going to be okay,” or “You’ll handle it when it comes.” I need that grounding reminder that things don’t always fall apart just because I can’t see the full picture yet.
I hate that I’m like this sometimes. I wish I could just go with the flow and trust the process like other people seem to do. Instead, I sit with this constant tight feeling in my chest, waiting for clarity that may not come anytime soon.
If you deal with anxiety around uncertainty too, how do you cope? How do you sit with the unknown without letting it completely take over your thoughts?
