Anyone else’s brain go full speed the second you try to sleep?

By Eli Mercer on

Last night was one of those nights. The second I laid down, my brain decided it was the perfect time to think about everything. Old conversations, things I should’ve said differently, stuff I need to do, stuff I can’t control. I barely slept.

What makes it worse is the spiral that comes after. You start worrying about not sleeping… then worrying about how bad tomorrow is going to feel… then stressing about stressing. It’s exhausting.

Today I felt foggy and on edge, and I keep reminding myself that this happens sometimes. One bad night doesn’t mean I’m back at square one. It just means my anxiety showed up a little louder than usual.

I’m trying not to “fix” everything today. Just doing the basics: eat, hydrate, get through work, maybe take a short walk. No pressure to be productive or positive.
