One Small Disruption and My Whole Workday Feels Ruined
By JugglingNothing on
Does anyone else feel like everything has to be just right before their brain will let them work?
If I’m tired, hungry, too warm, distracted by noise, or running five minutes late, I mentally write off the entire day. I keep waiting to feel ready, but by the time motivation shows up, I’m exhausted or the workday is almost over.
I’ve spent years calling myself lazy, but this doesn’t feel like a lack of caring. I want to work. I just struggle to start, switch gears, and recover when something interrupts my routine.
I’m almost 40, undiagnosed, and noticing that it’s getting harder. I’m considering a professional evaluation instead of continuing to blame myself.
For those with ADHD, does this sound familiar? What helps you restart after a small disruption without giving up on the rest of the day?
