My daughter can turn a five-minute task into a 20-minute operation 😂
By Charlotte on
She has cerebral palsy, and I've learned that sometimes the hardest part isn't the task itself. It's figuring out how to do it with the body she has.
The other morning, getting her shoe on turned into a whole process. She tried a few different positions until she found one that worked.
I wanted to jump in, but I stopped myself.
There's a difference between needing help and needing time to figure something out.
She's taught me that doing something differently doesn't mean doing it wrong.
Sometimes the best solution is simply the one that works for her.
Parents of kids with CP, what's an everyday task your child has figured out their own way to do?
And if you've discovered a clever workaround, share the cheat code. 😂
