“We wanted to give the school a chance.”

By YourChild.org on

Every year I hear the same thing. “We wanted to give the school a chance.” So you did. Then you gave them another chance. And another. And another. Now it’s been two years. Three years. Sometimes more. Let me ask you something: How many chances does the school get? Because your child doesn’t get those years back. Your child is not a draft that can be rewritten later. Your child is not a practice run. This is it. Right now. The school can recover from a bad year. Your child has to live with it. At some point, “giving them a chance” becomes accepting the outcome. If you know your child needs more, stop waiting for permission to act. The clock is running whether you do something or not. www.yourchild.org #IEP #SpecialEducation #Autism #ADHD #504Plan #SpecialEducationAdvocate #ParentAdvocate #IEPHelp #SpecialNeedsParenting #AutismParent #DisabilityAdvocacy #YourChild
