One of the biggest mistakes parents make
By YourChild.org on
One of the biggest mistakes parents make is suffering in silence.
They know something isn’t right.
They know their child is struggling.
They know the school isn’t listening.
But they convince themselves to stay quiet.
To wait.
To give it more time.
To avoid making waves.
Meanwhile, nothing changes.
And the child continues paying the price.
I tell parents all the time:
If you believe your child is being overlooked, underserved, or denied what they need, use your voice.
Ask the questions.
Request the meeting.
Challenge the assumptions.
Put your concerns in writing.
Not because you want a fight.
Because your child deserves to be heard.
Silence rarely changes outcomes.
Advocacy does.
And years from now, you’ll never regret standing up for your child.
You’ll regret the times you knew something was wrong and said nothing.
