Don’t let the school intimidate you

Don’t let the school intimidate you. I’ve seen parents sit through meetings where they were talked over. Dismissed. Rushed. Made to feel like they didn’t understand their own child. Made to feel like asking questions was somehow a problem. That’s exactly what intimidation is designed to do. It shifts the focus away from your child and onto your discomfort. The moment you become afraid to speak up, the conversation changes. The truth is, you don’t have to be an expert. You don’t have to know every law. You don’t have to win every argument. You just have to keep asking questions. Keep asking for data. Keep asking for explanations. Keep bringing the conversation back to your child’s needs. The most effective advocates are not the loudest people in the room. They’re the people who refuse to be intimidated. Your child needs someone willing to stay at the table when things get uncomfortable. Be that person. www.YourChild.org #IEP #SpecialEducation #Autism #ADHD #504Plan #SpecialEducationAdvocate #ParentAdvocate #IEPHelp #SpecialNeedsParenting #YourChild
