Don’t let opinions override evidence

Don’t let opinions override evidence. One of the most common things I hear from parents is: “The school says my child is doing fine.” Okay. Based on what? The school says they’re making progress. Show me the data. The school says they don’t need more support. Show me the data. The school says the current program is working. Show me the data. Too many parents get trapped arguing about opinions. Meanwhile, the evidence is sitting right there. Progress reports. Evaluations. Test scores. Work samples. Service logs. Attendance. Behavior data. Goal progress. When the facts support the school’s position, great. When they don’t, that’s where the conversation should begin. Don’t let vague statements, assumptions, or opinions become the reason your child goes without what they need. Ask for the evidence. The data tells the story. www.YourChild.org #IEP #SpecialEducation #Autism #ADHD #504Plan #SpecialEducationAdvocate #ParentAdvocate #IEPHelp #SpecialNeedsParenting #YourChild
