Parents are pressured into giving up every day
By YourChild.org on
Parents are pressured into giving up every day.
Not by signing a resignation letter.
By accepting less than their child needs.
“Let’s wait and see.”
“Let’s give it another year.”
“Let’s try this first.”
“Let’s revisit it later.”
The result is often the same.
The school gets the easy way out.
The difficult conversations never happen.
The supports never arrive.
The evaluations never happen.
And the child pays the price.
If the school truly believes your child doesn’t need help, make them explain why.
If they believe services should be reduced, make them explain why.
If they believe your child is making meaningful progress, make them show you the data.
Don’t voluntarily surrender your child’s opportunities because someone told you not to ask questions.
If your child needs help, make the district own its decisions.
Not you.
