This is what a healthy relationship looks like to me

I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what a healthy relationship actually looks like.

To me, it’s when both people want to put in effort because making their partner happy genuinely makes them happy. Not out of obligation, fear, or keeping score but mutual care.

I don’t believe healthy relationships mean no conflict. People will disagree. But if two people take time to understand each other early and share core values, most arguments aren’t about the end goal, just the approach. Even when they argue, they still want the other person to be okay at the end of it.

Communication matters a lot to me. A healthy relationship feels safe enough to bring things up early, without fear of being punished for it. Problems don’t get ignored until they explode.

And when big issues come up, it’s okay to pause and cool down before talking that doesn’t mean something is broken. It means the people involved are human. I don’t need perfection or constant intensity. As someone on the spectrum, what I value most is clarity, consistency, respect, and knowing we’re on the same team even during conflict.
