Which single video game or series are you planning to keep playing into the new year?

As the new year begins, I’ve been thinking less about what new games I want to start and more about which ones I know I’ll keep coming back to.
Not necessarily your absolute favorite game or series but the one that gives you that warm, familiar feeling when you boot it up. The one tied to memories, seasons of life, or just a sense of comfort.
For me, it’s Pokémon.
It’s probably not my “best of all time” series if I really sat down and ranked things, but it’s the one that’s quietly followed me for most of my life. Trading Pokémon on the playground in elementary school. Staying up way too late with a Game Boy under the covers. Getting a new generation for Christmas and disappearing for days. Later on, picking it back up during stressful times in college or adulthood when I just needed something familiar and steady.
Even now, starting a new file or revisiting an older game feels grounding. The music, the pacing, the predictability of it all, it’s like checking in with an old friend. No pressure, no rush, just comfort.
So in this new year, that’s the series I know I’ll keep playing. Not because it’s flashy or new, but because it’s been there for me across different chapters of my life.
